A rugged organic pickler that produces uniform yields of attractive, blocky fruits with exceptional crunch and flavor. Vigorous plants produce 4–5″ fruits over a long harvest period and are tough enough to withstand the pressures of organic growing conditions. Compared to Northern Pickling, Cool Customer has white spines (instead of black), which means fruit won’t yellow, a smaller seed cavity, and a blocky, rather than tapered blossom end. First harvest is about a week later than Northern Pickling, though it will produce later into the canning season. Bred by Johnny’s own Dr. John Navazio, who set out to breed the most flavorful pickler.
