EDIBLE FLOWER Zinnia Benary’s Giant Mix 4″sq
$0.00
Vigorous all-season producers hold up well in summer rain and heat all over the country. Densely petaled blooms are up to 6″ across. Long-lasting standouts in bouquets. Colors include deep red, orange, carmine rose, coral, lime, wine, purple, bright pink, white, salmon rose, scarlet, and golden yellow. Edible flowers do not have much flavor, but zinnias are a “cut and come again” flower, meaning that the more you harvest them, the more they grow back and produce more flowers, so experiment. Use the petals for a beautiful, colorful addition to salads, summer drinks or desserts. Plant Height: 40–50″

Zinnia Growing Tips
Zinnias, Zinnia elegans, are a star of the summer garden, with big, beautiful blooms in an array of color. Beloved by pollinators including butterflies, zinnias can brighten up any garden border with their vivid display. The brightly colored petals make a fun garnish for salads and other dishes. Annual.
General Care
- Plant zinnias in a warm location with full sun (6+ hours) and well-drained soil.
- Use a balanced fertilizer at planting and side dress occasionally throughout the growing season.
- Provide regular water, but zinnias can tolerate dry soil.
- Plants can be pinched to encourage bushier growth. Do this by snipping off the initial buds a little way down the stem, just above a pair of leaves.
- Regular deadheading will encourage more blooms.
Harvesting
- Make sure to introduce flowers into your diet slowly and only use small amounts at one time.
- Petals may be harvested as needed for garnish. Discard the flower head.
